IT'S IN THE jeans! Trying to find the perfect pair of jeans can give you the blues, so follow my guide to finding the perfect style and fit, no matter what your body shape.

BOOTCUT, bootflare, straight, slim, low rise and hip huggers ...just some of the styles of denims available in high street shops these days. Confused? Don't know what style will suit your body shape? We're going to make it easy for you.Whether it's casual, smart, straight, blue, grey, black - glammed up with killer heels and a sexy top - or dressed down with pumps and a fashion T, every girl knows she shouldn't be without a pair of denims. So, girls, whether you are tall and skinny, curvaceous or the traditional pear-shaped, there's a pair of jeans out there for you. Take this advice and you'll find the perfect pair of jeans…

You can't always rely on the sales assistant to tell you if your bum really does look big in those skinny jeans. For a second opinion take an honest friend along with you when you go shopping.

Changing-room mirrors can be deceptive - don't forget to look at your reflection from the back. If the jeans are wrinkled on the backs of your legs, you need to go up a size.

If you can't make up your mind in the store, buy them and try them on again at home, where you will feel less pressured. But first remember to ask about the returns policy as some stores may offer a voucher instead of your money back.

Take a pair of high heels with you when you're trying on jeans. It's difficult to tell whether they really look good on you when there's loads of fabric scrunched up around your ankles.

This summer we'll all be wearing acid-bright jeans. But if you're curvy, steer clear of the truly in-your-face shades that won't flatter and opt for slimming darker blues and purple.

These were a big trend last season and they're here to stay. Team with a fitted blouse for a smart-casual day look. Great if you're blessed with long legs but also good for holding in a muffin top - just wear them with a long top to hide your tummy and a belt to cinch in your waist.

The 70s look is big for spring/summer. Wear with a high wedge to give your legs a long, lean shape and to prevent your flares dragging on the ground.

The old favourites are back with a vengeance - probably because they look good on most body shapes. Perfect if you have wide hips or a big bottom as the wide leg will balance you out and make your hips seem smaller. Team with a pair of killer heels to get longerlooking legs.

These are superflattering - perfect if you want the skinny look without squeezing yourself into drainpipes. Extra fabric will also hide muscly calves.
